FAQ

Common questions about getting started with Emerald Psychiatry

What should I bring?

A valid photo ID and your insurance card. A list of current medications is helpful. Our new patient intake form can be completed online before your visit — which means your first appointment starts as a real conversation, not paperwork.

Do you accept my insurance?

We work with most major insurance plans in Ohio. Our team verifies your coverage before your appointment — not after. If you don't have insurance, we offer flexible payment options. Tell us when you call.

Can I do a telehealth visit?

Yes. Medication management and therapy are both available via telehealth. You'll receive a secure link before your visit. You need a private space, a device, and an internet connection. That's it.

How long is the first visit?

About 60 minutes. We take that time seriously — to understand your history, what you're experiencing, and what you actually want from care. Follow-up visits are typically 30 minutes, in keeping with our commitment of never making you feel rushed.

What if this is urgent?

If you're in crisis, call 988 or go to your nearest emergency room. For urgent but non-emergency concerns, call our office and we'll do our best to get you in quickly. We don't make people in distress wait at the back of the line.
